Outlook 2000 Tutorial

Your email setting can be found by logging into your webmail here and then clicking on [Mail Client Configuration].

Setup email account using Outlook 2000

  • 1. Click Tools from the menu bar
  • 2. Click Accounts from the drop down menu
  • 3. Click [Add] and select Mail
  • 4. Type the Display name for the email account
  • 5. Click [Next]
  • 6. Type the Email address, e.g. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • 7. Click [Next]
  • 8. Complete the following information:

My incoming mail server is a: Select POP3 or IMAP from the drop down
Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com.au for either POP or IMAP
Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com.au or your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) outgoing mail server

  • 9. Click [Next]
  • 10. Complete the following information:

Account Name: The full email address of the account, e.g. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Password: The password used for this email account
Remember Password: Selected
Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): Unselected

  • 11. Click [Next]
  • 12. Click [Finish]
  • 12. In the Internet Accounts window, select the email account just created (mail.yourdomain.com.au), then click [Properties]
  • 13. Select the Servers tab
  • 14. Select My server requires authentication
  • 15. Select the Advanced tab

In the Server Port Numbers window:

With SSL Encryption:
This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) = Selected
Change the Outgoing mail(SMTP) number to 465
Use the following type of encrypted connection = SSL

Without SSL Encryption:
This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) = Unselected
Change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) number to 26
Use the following type of encrypted connection = None

  • 16. Click [OK]
  • 17. Click [Close]
